4. No one seems to enforce any rules along the beach including boats pulled up to the shore in the swimming area and beach goers drinking beer out of beer bottles in the lake and along the beach. I love a cold beer but no one should have glass bottles on a beach for safety.
7. VERY limited cell phone coverage and NO WIFI offered
This place is a great place to stay especially with the kids. We have rented a "cove cabin" several times now and always had a good experience. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed. It is seconds away from a convenience store, great restaurant and boat ramp but feels way out in the country.
5. LOTS of ants and flies in the campsites. I guess this is part of camping but this was a major issue when trying to eat outside. You would be covered with flies within minutes when there is food present.
3. The beaches were decent and there are alot of shoreline left for fishing if you chose to fish from the shore.
2. It appears they tried to replace their massive boat docks but they have sustained major damage after they broke loose after a storm at some point. So now there is a major part of their shoreline and ALL of the docks roped off with no trespassing signs since the docks are heavily damaged and not usable. Hard to believe a set of docks that massive would be left in disrepair in the busy summer months.
6. Overall its a decent place but keep in mind you aren't getting anything close to a "resort" here. More like a decent, older campground.
Just wanted to share some words of caution to anyone looking to stay at this place. We just stayed there in an RV spot and had a good weekend, but there are some things you should know before booking anything here:
Very nice place to stay. Clean restrooms with showers. Quiet place you get some relaxation, and the other campers during my stay were friendly.
Great relaxing place, nice beach area. Boat rentals, which absolutely worth it. Great fishing near by, also lots of fishing guides. Store for food and convinent neer by. Great place for the weekend. Boat rentals are $500 for the weekend. Easy clean no work to boat or insurance. Just a great weekend. Cabins are a little over priced. RV units are great. Really love this place!!
9. Lots of shade which was nice in the hot summer months.
Not a bad place, but just want people to know what to expect.
1. Overall the place needs a lot of repairs. Lots of broken concrete along the stairways to beach, cracked and caved in sidewalks, etc.
The cabins were cute and set up great! We loved being on the water. We aee planning on coming back.
8. If you have kids - there is a small playground, a basketball goal (on grass) and volleyball courts so there is alot for the kids to do.
