Love love this place! Staff are friendly and helpful,grounds are well kept,and clean!! Very family oriented and pet friendly. Couldn't ask for a better place so close to home , bring your atvs,horses,fishing poles, swim, paddle boats are a fair price for rentals... just amazing
Cons: The roads were rough but the staff were trying hard to make them better after every rain. The office hours were not long enough. The office closed at 3 PM. If you were out for the day and returned to find your internet access had run out you had to wait till the next day to get a new access number. The bathrooms smelled of chlorine from the pool and the toilet paper nearly ran out (I always carry my own though. Gotta take care of yourself sometimes. :) ) If it had been mentioned I am sure it would have been take care of.
Pros: The staff were friendly and the location was pretty. The staff were helpful if asked. The location was close to parks and Jasper, Texas. The cellphone coverage for Boost Mobile was non-existent (not the campgrounds fault) so check your plan before going. Satellite Phone saved the day for this. The bathrooms in our area were CLEAN.
Great place to stay and camp. Clean park. Friendly and helpful staff. The owners are fantastic people. Will definitely be going back. The atv trails are awesome.
Great place. The only thing that was terrible was the roads on the grounds. They were so worn down they were powder. My bass boat was full of dust by the end of our trip. Will not be staying here on my next trip to Sam Rayburn because of this.
My family will be on our way to Beaumont to help with hurricane cleanup this weekend and wanted to avoid making a 550 mile trip full of water. I contacted this campground to see if we could possibly fill the RV with water there. I was told, "Oh no, we've never done anything like that before. We can't do that ." I was a little shocked that a KOA couldn't be bothered to even consider such a thing under the circumstances. We would have been happy to pay for the water if that was an issue!
